Why I am choosing to become a teacher
I was originally a pre-vet major, but I realized that my heart was actually with the kids. I chose to become a teacher because I love working with children. I love watching children discover new things in life. All children need a positive influence in their lives, and I believe I can be that influence. I work in an after-school program and have seen that the children want you to be not only a teacher but also a "friend", someone they can talk to and rely on. I had several teachers that I consider a "friend" because I know they are there to lend a listening ear for all of their students.

Thank you for you positive comments on my blog. I too enjoy working with the children, and I consider many teachers my friends. It is important for children to have someone to listen. Unfortunately, too many parents these days just aren't there for their children. :)
I love animals, so that's cool you thought about being a vet because I did too. Unfortnutely, I don't do well with blood or anything like that haha. It's good that you had good teachers you could call your friend.
By working in an afterschool program, you will be more than ready for the classroom. Also, you know how important teachers are during afterschool hours. I believe, you will be one of those teachers you knew as a "friend."
You will be a great teacher! Your heart is in it and you will be a great influence in the lives of the kids!
